I'M CALLING TO CONFIRM

“I’ve been in the wedding business for many years now but this story, pardon the pun, takes the cake. It is a policy of ours to call all the brides and grooms we have met with a month before their wedding to confirm their decision either way. Sometimes they will have decided to book with another cake designer but didn’t let us know and other times they have forgotten about the details of their cake and are thankful for the reminder. In our first meeting I tell all the couples about this reminder phone call so it was very odd when one day in August, a couple of years ago, we received a call from a bride a week before her wedding saying that she had caught us and that we hadn’t remembered to give her call. Well all the staff is really great with the procedures and I usually make the reminder phone calls myself so I looked into a bit further and found her cake order with “cancelled” written across the top and the date the cancellation was phoned in. So I phoned the bride to let her know that she had phoned to cancel her order. She was at first confused and then adamant that she hadn’t done such a thing so we happily reinstated her order. The next day she phoned back to apologize for being short on the phone because as it turns out someone had indeed phoned to cancel her order. Her fiancés’ ex-girlfriend had taken it upon herself to sleuth out which vendors she had booked with and cancelled nearly all of them! Luckily she caught it in time and was able to get all her vendors back otherwise it would have just been her, her fiancé and her guests on the wedding day!”

SETTING THINGS STRAIGHT

“A newlywed couple had just arrived in their honeymoon suite. After unpacking, the husband took off his pants. "Put these on," he said to his wife. She did and they were obviously much too large. "There's no way I can wear these - they're way too big," she said. "Good!  Now you know who wears the pants in this family," replied the husband.

Flustered, the wife removed her panties, and handing them to her husband said, "Put these on." The husband looked at the tiny panties and said, "There's no way I can get into these." To which the wife replied, "You're darn right!  At least not until you change your attitude!"
